Jane Blundell 2017

Jane Blundell

Jane Blundell’s bootcamp in 2016 was immensely popular (we all learnt so much about colour, pigments and colour mixing!). So we’re delighted that in 2017 she has agreed to teach another bootcamp and an additional 3-class for those with some experience. A number of previous bootcamp students have already booked for the 3-day class so please send in your form quickly if you want to secure a place!

How to book

Watercolour bootcamp

17-21 July 2017

The price of this 5-day workshop is £500.

Whether you are new to watercolour or have been on the watercolour journey for some time but are looking for a more comprehensive study of this fascinating medium, Watercolour Bootcamp is for you. We will work from the ground up, building skills and understanding in pigment properties, colour mixing, simple colour wheels, limited palette studies, controlling washes, glazing, wet-in-wet, negative painting, sketching with watercolour, still life, special effects in watercolour, botanicals and so much more. It will be a very busy and productive week that will include a range of subjects painted en plein air in Bath, from life in the studio and from photographs.

Jane Blundell has been painting in watercolour for over 35 years and is a professional artist and teacher and a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute. She is a passionate sketcher and while she works in all mediums her favourite is watercolour. She paints anything – urban landscapes, flowers, rocks, people, still life, whatever – usually from life. Her understanding of colour and pigments is based on years of personal research and exploration, and can be seen in her two self-published books: Watercolour Mixing Charts and The Ultimate Mixing Palette: a World of Colour.

When completing the booking form please put for the 5-day class.

It will include some work with floral, still life and landscape themes as well as some plein air, and/or figure/portraiture techniques depending on the interests of the group.

When completing the booking form please put for the 3-day class.
