The Bath Painting and Textile Summer Schools
Organised by Lynne Roche, who has great enthusiasm for both painting and textiles, the Painting Summer School started in 2016. Lynne has also organised the extremely popular Bath Textile Summer School since 2014.
Bath is such an inspiring and beautiful place to come to enjoy and learn exciting new skills!
A little about Lynne
The idea for the Summer Schools was born in 2012 when I invited Nikki and Lesley down to my workshop to take a small class in stumpwork. We chatted about how sad it was that Urchfont was closing, where I had enjoyed classes with Jane Rowe years ago. They told us about Koala conventions in Australia where many tutors teach an amazing number of classes over a week or so. This got me thinking … And here we are!
Michael, my husband and I have been making artist dolls in Bath for over 30 years (www.roche-dolls.co.uk); we still do but I am trying also to spend more time on my own artwork, both painting and textile. I studied painting at Camberwell Art School in London.
For any of you who may be interested in artist dolls we may be able to arrange a visit during the week of the Summer School.
